This past Saturday, our group went on a day trip to Segovia. The bus trip there took about two hours, which was fine since we’d all woken up so early that we needed the time to nap anyway. Upon arriving in Segovia, the first thing everyone noticed was the giant Roman aqueduct that ran from the mountains into the city. Our tour guide led us into the city, telling us on the way the history of this incredible aqueduct and the route we would be taking through the city. Once we got into the main square, the first thing we all noticed was the massive cathedral across the way. We would be touring that later in the day, but for the morning, we passed it and made our way to the castle.
El castillo de Segovia era muy bonita, con arquitectura de muchos siglos diferentes. Mirábamos mucho arte, como pinturas, tapizes, y estatuas de el Rey Fernando y la Reína Isabel que vivían en este castillo. También, subimos el torre de el castillo y pudíamos ver todo la ciudad, pero había muchísimas escaleras para llegar al encima. Después del castillo, fuemos al catedral. Aquí, víamos muchas pinturas y estatuas religiosas. La cathedral era muy bonita y muy alta, pero nuestro guía dijo que el catedral no era muy importante en la historia de la ciudad. Después de los tours, fuemos a un restaurante para almorzarnos.
